Registered Nurse (RN) - ED - Emergency Department - $32-48 per hour

Job Overview BJC HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department (ED) at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in Valley Park, Missouri. The position is part‑time, providing 12‑hour day shifts from 7:00a.m. to 7:30p.m., with weekend requirements. The role is for an emergency nurse who will collaborate closely with physicians, other nurses, and medical staff to deliver high‑quality, rapid patient care and support patients and their families during urgent medical situations. Responsibilities Provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing care standards. Promotes patient- and family‑centered care and a healing environment. Educates patients and families on illness management, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration. Participates in patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance activities. Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with goals, in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient or caregiver. Ensures proactive communication of care plans across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences, barriers to involvement, and values, including emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Maintains a constant state of alertness and performs all duties safely, as the position is safety‑sensitive. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing. License: Current RN license. No prior clinical experience required. No supervisor experience required. Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
