Work Environment

This position involves direct patient care in a home care setting across Staten Island, allowing you to interact closely with patients in their own environments, which promotes comfort and ease during their recovery. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility to accommodate patient needs and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans for patients, emphasizing improvements in mobility, strength, and functionality.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities designed to enhance physical well-being and alleviate pain.
• Educate patients on proper body mechanics and exercise techniques, equipping them with a personalized home exercise program to support recovery.
• Administer therapeutic modalities like electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress, assessing range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities to adapt treatment as needed.
• Maintain treatment areas, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are organized and readily available for therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to coordinate patient care and optimize rehabilitation outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, fostering a motivating and positive environment during their rehabilitation journey.
• Adhere to ethical and professional guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting their rights.

Qualifications
