Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions either within the client’s home or at our outpatient clinic, adapting to their unique needs and circumstances.

• Implement therapeutic interventions focusing on anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development, specifically aiming to mitigate high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Work collaboratively with adolescents and their caregivers to enhance decision-making capabilities, empowering them to manage behavioral challenges effectively within their home environments.

• Engage actively with the Child Family Treatment Team and interdisciplinary specialists, fostering a collaborative approach to ensure comprehensive care for each client.
\n
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring timely submission for compliance and quality assurance.

• Participate in monthly clinical meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and contribute recommendations for improvement in therapeutic practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our programs are designed to support a diverse range of clients including children and adolescents aged 3–20 who are experiencing significant challenges due to developmental disabilities and cognitive issues. This position requires sensitivity and adaptability to meet varying needs across this demographic, emphasizing the importance of understanding unique backgrounds and cultural contexts.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related mental health field.

• Possession of a valid and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.

• Availability to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (typically 4-7 PM), with some flexibility on weekends considered beneficial.

• Strong foundational skills in providing positive behavior support and therapeutic interventions.
\n
• Previous experience working with children within the 3-20 age range, particularly those with intellectual/developmental disabilities, is highly preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle is essential for travel to client homes.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required.
