Work Environment

Located in the vibrant community of Islip, NY, our facility serves a wide range of patients from young families to seniors, providing an array of healthcare services on-site. Working Monday through Friday, you will be engaged in a supportive and professional environment that emphasizes on-site patient care. This full-time position involves a 40-hour work week, concluding at 5:00 PM, giving you the opportunity to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and review patients' medical histories to assess their health status.
• Order and analyze diagnostic tests, including blood work and imaging studies, to develop accurate diagnoses.
• Diagnose health conditions, formulate treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions for acute and chronic illnesses.
• Prescribe medications and manage ongoing treatment plans, ensuring the highest standard of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely health records using our electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures, fostering a culture of health literacy.
• Collaborate with our team of physicians and NPs, participating in regular case discussions to enhance patient care strategies.
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives designed to enhance care delivery and patient outcomes.
• Utilize evidence-based guidelines for disease prevention, encouraging patients to adopt healthy lifestyles.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and clinical research to further your expertise and improve practice standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily focus on adult and pediatric patients seeking comprehensive primary care services. This includes managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, addressing acute issues, and providing preventive healthcare interventions. You will have the opportunity to form long-term relationships with patients, making a positive impact on their overall health and well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Current Physician Assistant license in New York and certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (PA-C).
• A valid DEA registration number for prescribing medications.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in a primary care or similar healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in managing acute and chronic conditions with a focus on patient education and preventative care.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, allowing for effective interaction with patients and the healthcare team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate patient documentation and adherence to guidelines.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a collaborative office environment, particularly within a team of physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards relevant to patient care.

Compensation and Benefits
