Work Environment

This position is onsite at our hospital, where you will engage with a multidisciplinary team, including five attending physicians and five other Nurse Practitioners. Collaborating with this diverse group, you will enjoy a supportive work environment focused on continuous learning and improvement. Your working hours will be Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours a week, concluding at 5:00 PM, allowing you to maintain a balanced life outside of work while delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review patient medical histories to inform treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and X-rays, contributing to effective diagnosis.
• Diagnose patients' health conditions and illnesses accurately, providing timely and appropriate interventions.
• Develop and propose individualized treatment plans for patients with chronic or acute conditions.
• Prescribe necessary medications and monitor patient responses to these treatments closely.
• Maintain meticulous patient records and schedules to ensure compliance with health regulations and protocols.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
• Promote wellness and health maintenance, helping patients adopt healthy lifestyles.
• Engage in ongoing clinical research, professional development, and knowledge enhancement to stay current with healthcare trends.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with an adult patient population at our Primary Care practice. Your role will involve addressing their diverse health concerns, from routine check-ups to managing chronic diseases, ensuring each patient receives personalized, comprehensive care. You will also participate in community wellness initiatives, contributing to public health promotion and disease prevention.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field.
• A valid New York State Physician Assistant license, with PA-C certification required.
• A DEA number is necessary to prescribe controlled substances.
• Proven experience as a Physician Assistant in various clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency environments.
• Strong knowledge of health care regulations and patient care standards.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients and healthcare teams.
• A strong ethical foundation and a positive, collaborative attitude to enhance team dynamics.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with patience and a composed demeanor.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience in primary care, acute care, or chronic care settings.
• Experience in specialized fields such as internal medicine, cardiology, or urgent care is beneficial.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred but not required.

Compensation and Benefits
