Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand each patient’s trauma history and design appropriate treatment paths.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and overall mental health improvement.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate patient healing.

• Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions tailored to help clients process their experiences, develop coping strategies, and promote emotional recovery.

• Engage in ongoing collaboration with psychiatrists and fellow mental health professionals to ensure a seamless continuum of care for clients.

• Provide crisis intervention when necessary, offering immediate support during trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping strategies, and resources available to support their well-being.

• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in line with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care best practices.

• Stay informed about the latest research and methodologies in the field of trauma therapy to enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily involves working with individuals who are dealing with the impacts of trauma, including those diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and other trauma-related disorders. Therapists play a vital role in empowering these clients, offering them the tools and guidance they need to process their experiences and work toward recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the State of New Jersey is mandatory.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively provide trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, exemplifying a compassionate and non-judgmental approach in all interactions.

• Ability to remain composed and maintain professional standards in high-stress or crisis situations.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency with relevant computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a mental health counseling role, ideally in a community health or outpatient setting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
