East Metro Counseling Services is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapists—including LMFTs, LPCs, and LCSWs—for full-time positions within our innovative telehealth program. Our therapists play a crucial role in delivering high-quality mental health care to clients in the Paterson, New Jersey area, from the convenience and safety of their own homes. This position offers an attractive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, in addition to a sign-on bonus.

Work Environment\n

This remote role allows therapists the flexibility to conduct sessions through telehealth platforms, contributing to a balanced work-life experience. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although some flexibility may be necessary to accommodate client availability and needs. Our practice leverages video conferencing technology and electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain seamless communication and documentation.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments to identify client needs and formulate personalized treatment plans which align with best practices in mental health care.

• Provide individual, couples, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy.

• Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and support groups that empower clients by addressing common mental health issues, encouraging community engagement.
\n
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive and holistic treatment approaches for clients.

• Deliver crisis intervention services to clients during mental health emergencies, ensuring immediate support and safety.
\n
• Educate clients about mental health conditions and available treatment options while guiding them through community resources.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with established ethical and legal standards, ensuring compliance with state regulations.

• Engage actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

• Keep abreast of the latest developments in mental health therapy and incorporate new approaches into practice as appropriate.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our client population is diverse, consisting of individuals from various backgrounds, ages, and socioeconomic statuses. Therapists will work with clients facing a multitude of challenges—ranging from short-term stressors to chronic mental health conditions. Understanding and responding to the unique needs of each client are central to effective therapy and improved patient outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey.

• Strong knowledge and understanding of various mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and therapeutic approaches.

• Demonstrated experience in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and developing effective, individualized treatment plans.

• Proficiency in providing individual and group therapy to a broad range of clients.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that foster strong therapeutic relationships.

• Integrity and sound judgment in maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to ethical guidelines.

• Familiarity with EHR systems and basic computer applications essential for telehealth practice.

• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting providing mental health therapy.

• Experience working specifically with diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and families facing complex mental health challenges.

• Prior experience in telehealth service delivery is an advantage.
