Software Engineer (Python/AWS, Applied AI/ML)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal software engineering training or certification, with at least 3 years of applied experience
• Practical experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Hands-on experience developing applications in Python
• Knowledge of software development practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain design decisions and work effectively with stakeholders
• Familiarity with Machine Learning Operations (MLOps)
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database query languages
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to assess, validate, and refine generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; ability to guide peers in safe and effective practices
• Preferred: Experience with cloud services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and containerized application development
• Preferred: Familiarity with relational databases such as Postgres and AWS services such as S3, EKS, SageMaker, and Bedrock
• Preferred: Practical experience with Kubernetes, EKS, Docker, Kafka, MLOps, or Large Language Model Operations (LLMOps)
• Preferred: Experience working on AI/ML systems or collaborating with data scientists

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver software solutions, applying creative approaches to build solutions and resolve technical problems
• Develop and maintain secure, high-quality applications using Python and AWS
• Produce architecture and design deliverables
• Integrate AI/ML solutions into complex, domain-specific operational processing systems
• Take part in code reviews, design discussions, and agile planning
• Work with SRE and production monitoring teams to support system reliability and performance
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and technology events
• Apply continuous learning, creative problem-solving, and a proactive approach to the work
• Use software development lifecycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation
• Analyze and visualize large, varied datasets and create reporting to support continuous improvement of applications and systems
