This position is primarily remote, allowing you the flexibility to engage with students and their families from the comfort of your own home. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, and educational professionals, ensuring a holistic approach to student care. Despite the remote nature of the job, regular team meetings and case consultations enable continual support and collaboration among colleagues. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to accommodate the needs of your patients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify the specific needs of each student, developing personalized treatment plans that consider their individual challenges and goals.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, to deliver effective treatment to individuals, couples, and families.

• Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups aimed at addressing common mental health concerns, offering students a sense of belonging and community.

• Collaborate closely with educators and other professionals to ensure coordinated care that supports the student’s educational and emotional well-being.

• Provide crisis intervention services when necessary, ensuring immediate support during mental health emergencies or significant distress.
\n
• Educate students and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to enhance access to successful interventions.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation to comply with all legal and ethical standards.

• Engage actively in professional development by participating in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing training opportunities.

• Stay updated with the latest research, treatments, and methodologies in the field of mental health therapy to continuously enhance your practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be working with students aged 5 to 18 from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate mental health challenges that may impact their education and daily lives. Many students may be experiencing anxiety, depression, or trauma related to their home or school environment. Your role will be vital in providing them with the tools and support needed to succeed.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.

• Active, valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment approaches, and therapeutic best practices.

• Proven experience in conducting mental health assessments and creating effective treatment plans tailored to diverse populations.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills that foster trust and rapport with students and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
