Make a meaningful impact as a contract special education teacher supporting elementary students in an inclusive classroom environment. This position is designed for those who are passionate about helping young learners with a range of needs, including autism, developmental delays, and speech or language delays. As part of a dedicated team, you’ll work closely with a small group of students to foster their growth and success throughout the school year.

Key Requirements:

• Hold an active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) teaching license with P-12 Special Education endorsement.
• Possess the required Dyslexia endorsement.
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged children in special education settings, especially in inclusion classrooms, is highly preferred.
• Comfortable managing a caseload of approximately 8–10 students, primarily in 1st-2nd grade, with some students in PreK or Kindergarten.
• Strong skills in adapting curriculum, implementing IEPs, and providing differentiated support.
• Understanding of behaviors associated with autism, learning disabilities, and speech/language delays.
• Ability to supervise toileting routines; toileting or diapering is not involved, although supervision of one student with a toileting goal is necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support within an inclusive classroom setting.
• Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure student success.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Utilize behavior management strategies and support self-regulation skill development.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
• Participate in professional development and planning sessions, including pre-planning days.

Assignment Details:

• Full-time, contract position (37.5 hours per week).
• Located at an elementary school, serving students from July 29th through May 21st, 2027, including pre-planning days.
