Position Overview

Southcoast Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outpatient Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In this full-time role, you will work closely with a diverse patient population, focusing on restoring mobility and enhancing the quality of life for individuals in their own homes. Work Environment

This position is based onsite, with a focus on home care settings. You will visit patients in their residences within Fredericksburg and surrounding areas, ensuring that each therapy session is conducted in a familiar and supportive environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, allowing for a work-life balance while meeting patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Create individualized care plans aimed at addressing the specific rehabilitation goals of each patient.
• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities and limitations.
• Deliver hands-on treatment using a variety of techniques, emphasizing manual therapy modalities.
• Leverage your knowledge of orthopedic outpatient care to implement effective therapeutic exercises.
• Maintain a manageable patient load, ensuring adequate time for each therapeutic encounter.
• Integrate cost-effective treatment options to enhance mobility and promote active lifestyles.
• Encourage and motivate patients through personalized fitness and wellness programs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare practitioners to ensure holistic patient care.
• Regularly evaluate treatment effects and adjust care plans as necessary to optimize recovery outcomes.
• Document all patient interactions and care delivered using electronic medical record (EMR) software, such as Web PT, ensuring compliance with organizational protocols and state regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be primarily supporting patients in home care settings, which can include individuals recovering from surgeries, those managing chronic pain, and elderly patients needing mobility assistance. Building rapport with this patient demographic is essential, as it encourages their active participation in the rehabilitation process and fosters a supportive recovery environment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is strongly preferred.
• Possession of an active Physical Therapist license in Virginia, with no history of sanctions or board proceedings.
• Proficiency in various manual therapy techniques and an ability to create effective exercise programs tailored to individual needs.
• Experience using EMR systems, particularly Web PT, for accurate patient documentation.
• Thorough knowledge of contemporary physical therapy practices supported by current research.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in home care settings is a plus, allowing a smooth transition into role-specific responsibilities.
• Demonstrated success in working with orthopedic patients and managing complex rehabilitation cases.
• Strong communication skills for effectively collaborating with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals.

Compensation and Benefits
