Work Environment

In this onsite role, you will be working directly in patients' homes, providing individualized physical therapy treatment. You will have the chance to create a comforting and professional atmosphere that supports recovery while gaining firsthand insights into your patients' environments. Your schedule will consist of a 40-hour work week, typically Monday through Friday, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day activities will include a variety of essential tasks designed to enhance patient care:

• Conduct thorough evaluations to determine the patient's physical condition and rehabilitation needs, interpreting results to formulate individualized treatment plans.
• Administer and monitor physical therapy interventions, utilizing advanced techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities tailored to the specific rehabilitation goals.
• Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, including home exercise programs and injury prevention strategies to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their care.
• Document all patient progress clearly and accurately in an electronic medical records system to facilitate communication with healthcare providers and measure outcomes against established goals.
• Regularly consult with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and occupational therapists, to discuss patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at Stryker, you will work with a diverse demographic, including orthopedic, pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine patients. Your role will involve tailoring therapies to accommodate varying levels of physical ability and rehabilitation requirements, ensuring that all patients achieve their functional goals and enjoy a higher quality of life.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess the following credentials:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Certification in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective patient interaction.
• Proficiency in computer systems and documentation software relevant to patient care.

Preferred Experience

In addition to the required qualifications, we prefer candidates with at least two years of experience in a physical therapy role, particularly those who have worked in home care or with diverse patient populations. Experience in developing relationships within the community will also be considered a significant asset.
