Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite, as you will be visiting patients in their homes to deliver therapy services. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients referred by physicians to create customized treatment plans that address specific needs.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions that cater to various patient backgrounds and health conditions.
• Provide education and training to patients and their caregivers, empowering them to actively participate in their recovery process.
• Monitor and document patient progress diligently, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on patient feedback and clinical indicators.
• Utilize advanced modalities and therapeutic techniques including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to enhance function and mobility.
• Establish strong rapport with patients, ensuring their comfort and trust throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will have the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population, including individuals requiring orthopedic rehabilitation, pediatric support, neurologic therapy, and sports medicine recovery. Each patient will present unique challenges and needs, allowing for a rich variety of experiences and professional growth.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enhancing interactions with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in computer systems and basic word processing to document patient care effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in home care or outpatient therapy.
