Balance Staffing is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Covina, CA
NOW HIRING – Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Covina, CA
Pay: $22–$25/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
Contract: Approximately 2–3 months, with potential for extension
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support daily accounting operations. This position will handle vendor invoices, payments, account reconciliation, and AP reporting while working closely with vendors and the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
- Match, batch, and code vendor invoices, both paper and electronic.
- Research and resolve vendor billing discrepancies.
- Process weekly check runs.
- Apply vendor payments in QuickBooks.
- Review and reconcile vendor statements.
- Monitor and manage the AP email inbox.
- Prepare weekly AP Aging reports.
- Provide invoice information to the Senior Accountant for month-end accruals.
- Maintain organized digital and physical AP files.
- Assist with additional accounting and AP projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 3+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable or general accounting experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and basic formulas.
- Accurate data entry and strong math skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- College coursework or degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ideal Candidate
Looking for someone with hands-on Accounts Payable experience who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accurate financial records in a fast-paced accounting environment.
