Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial and ongoing comprehensive mental health assessments, evaluating each elderly patient’s unique psychological and emotional needs.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address cognitive, physical, and social factors affecting mental health, ensuring they cater specifically to the geriatric population.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family counseling, tailored to geriatric psychiatric conditions like dementia, anxiety, and depression.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including geriatric psychiatrists, to provide integrated care and support.

• Offer crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies, ensuring timely support and care for elderly patients.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and local resources, facilitating informed decision-making.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation that complies with legal and ethical standards for mental health practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is the geriatric population, with emphasis on enhancing mental well-being through specialized care. You will address a broad spectrum of mental health concerns, including late-life depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment issues related to aging, and other cognitive disturbances. Your role is pivotal in leading holistic approaches tailored to improving the quality of life for elderly individuals.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.

• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a patient-centered approach that builds trust and rapport with older adults.
