Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and screenings to identify patient needs, strengths, and treatment goals.

• Provide individualized short-term counseling and crisis intervention for patients facing an array of psychological issues, adapting approaches based on patient feedback and progress.
\n
• Lead engaging therapy groups and interactive workshops that address various mental health topics, empowering participants to share experiences and develop coping strategies.

• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, nursing staff, and patient support services—to craft holistic treatment plans that ensure comprehensive patient care.

• Initiate and participate in community outreach efforts that promote mental health awareness, such as informational seminars and wellness events that outreach to diverse populations.

• Maintain meticulous, confidential patient records in compliance with relevant legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring continuity of care and regulatory adherence.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse patient population, including adults and adolescents coping with various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders. Counselors will be instrumental in providing treatment and support that addresses acute and chronic mental health issues prevalent within hospital settings.

Qualifications\n

• Must hold an active state license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in understanding the complex emotional and psychological challenges faced by hospital patients.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport with a diverse range of patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary medical team.

• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and brief therapy modalities suitable for a fast-paced counseling center environment.

• Ability to manage a varied caseload while prioritizing care based on urgent patient needs and overall therapeutic goals.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in an outpatient or hospital counseling center is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth technologies.

• The annual salary for this role ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
