The Healing Mind and Soul Center is seeking a dedicated and flexible Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our compassionate team in providing exceptional mental health services remotely to children and families in New Jersey. This full-time role is critical to supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of vulnerable populations, especially those facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions remotely, providing tailored therapeutic interventions that address clients’ specific needs.
\n
• Utilize evidenced-based practices to offer anger management, coping skills training, and social skills development, helping to mitigate high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Assist clients in improving decision-making skills for better family dynamics and managing in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team, along with other interdisciplinary professionals, ensuring a cohesive approach to each child’s care plan.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all clients including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, following all regulatory guidelines.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings and contribute valuable recommendations to enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role serves children and adolescents aged 3-20, particularly those with developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD). You will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse group of children, providing support during challenging periods in their lives. Your ability to communicate effectively in both Spanish and Portuguese will be pivotal in connecting with families from varied cultural backgrounds, ensuring they receive culturally sensitive care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential to perform this role.
\n
• A minimum availability of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with weekend flexibility being a plus.

• A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for potential in-home visits.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support is strongly preferred.
\n
• Prior experience working with children and adolescents facing I/DD challenges will be a strong asset.

• Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits\n
