Work Environment\n

The Counselor will operate in a remote setting, with the opportunity to connect with clients via telehealth platforms as well as through occasional in-person visits at our outpatient office in Chandler. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments by performing initial consultations, gathering relevant client history, and evaluating emotional, behavioral, and psychological health.

• Create tailored treatment and recovery plans based on individual needs, including goals for therapy and intervention strategies that span individual, couples, family, and group therapy modalities.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to guide clients through their recovery journey.
\n
• Regularly monitor client progress against treatment plans, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, social workers, and other specialists to coordinate holistic care for clients.

• Stay engaged in ongoing education and professional development, utilizing the latest research in psychotherapy to enhance service delivery.

• Provide follow-up support for clients transitioning in and out of psychiatric facilities, helping to coordinate referrals and integrate care.

• Empower clients and their families by providing guidance on managing mental health challenges, building resilience, and fostering positive support systems.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on a diverse client base, which includes individuals struggling with a wide array of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. Counselors are expected to be culturally competent and adaptable, utilizing a client-centered approach to meet the unique needs of each individual or group.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Arizona.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in an accessible manner.

• Demonstrated clinical expertise and prior experience as a mental health counselor.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to manage client notes and treatment plans efficiently.

• Experience in addressing a range of physical and emotional health conditions, as well as knowledge of addiction issues.

• Familiarity with the best practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of psychopharmacology and the effects of medications prescribed by healthcare providers.
