Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to accurately diagnose a wide range of mental health disorders prevalent among students.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on specific patient needs, utilizing evidence-based practices to ensure effective therapeutic interventions.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, carefully monitoring patient response and adjusting dosages as necessary to optimize treatment outcomes.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling services, employing various therapeutic methodologies including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy.
• Engage with patients’ families to educate them on mental health issues, treatment processes, and promote self-care strategies that support recovery.
• Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR), documenting patient interactions, progress, and treatment adjustments.
• Facilitate regular follow-ups to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans, addressing any concerns or changes in symptoms that may arise.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to collaboratively review and adjust treatment plans, ensuring a well-rounded approach to care.
• Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and ethical practice, adhering strictly to legal guidelines and institutional policies.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York.
• Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• Demonstrated clinical experience within psychiatric and mental health settings.
• In-depth knowledge of psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Skilled in prescribing psychotropic medications and managing treatment outcomes effectively.

Compensation and Benefits
