Although much of your work will be conducted from a remote location, our outpatient office in Anaheim serves as a hub for community engagement activities and meetings. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including medical providers, midwives, and birth workers, in a supportive and forward-thinking atmosphere that encourages continuous learning and team development.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Engage actively in community outreach activities aimed at fostering holistic wellness and building community among birthing individuals and families.
\n
• Participate in collaborative clinical consultation sessions and multidisciplinary co-learning opportunities to expand your professional knowledge and practice.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation to comply with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
\n
• Deliver individualized direct services, including comprehensive behavioral health assessments, counseling sessions, and effective case management, specifically tailored for Black birthing families.
\n
• Consult with prenatal care teams, consisting of medical providers and birth professionals, to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to care.
\n
• Co-facilitate childbirth education and postpartum peer support groups alongside experienced birth workers to provide continuous support for new families.
\n
• Undertake additional duties as needed to support the mission and goals of the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role as a mental health counselor will primarily focus on supporting Black birthing families, a group often facing unique challenges during the perinatal period. You will employ culturally competent practices tailored to address their specific needs and concerns. By utilizing a village-building approach, you will empower clients, fostering resilience and emotional well-being during a critical phase in their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in behavioral sciences or a related field from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) is mandatory.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage professionally with a diverse and multicultural clientele and interdisciplinary team.

• A self-starter with the capability to work independently while asking for assistance when needed for optimal outcomes.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing mental health services to perinatal populations is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with community-based resources and holistic wellness practices will be beneficial to your success in this role.

• Demonstrated ability in leading support groups or educational workshops.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 120,000–130,000 per year for full-time employment.
