Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial assessments through preliminary interviews, establishing rapport and creating a safe space for clients to share their mental health concerns.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health by employing diagnostic tools and clinical judgment to inform treatment planning.

• Develop and implement individualized intervention and recovery plans that address specific client needs, incorporating evidence-based therapy practices.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic techniques that encourage personal reflection and group engagement.
\n
• Continuously monitor clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes and prompt intervention when challenges arise.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and healthcare providers, to create comprehensive and integrated treatment plans.

• Provide support to family members and primary caregivers to assist in managing clients’ mental and behavioral challenges.

• Stay current with developments in the field of psychotherapy and participate in ongoing education to enhance clinical skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will primarily focus on diverse adult clients seeking support for a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and trauma-related concerns. Working in the Long Beach area, you will have the opportunity to engage with individuals from various backgrounds, ensuring culturally responsive care that acknowledges and respects each client's unique experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.

• Successful completion of relevant examinations, including the NCE and/or the NCMHCE.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling with a focus on individual and group therapy.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate client documentation.
\n
• Comprehensive understanding of various mental health disorders, including those co-occurring with substance use and addiction.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
\n
• Empathetic and supportive demeanor with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working within a telehealth setting, adapting therapeutic approaches to virtual formats.

• Knowledge of best practices as defined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience.
