Work Environment

As a Pediatric Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Little Hands, you will primarily work in a home care setting, ensuring a comfortable and familiar environment for our young patients. This onsite work format allows therapists to tailor rehabilitation strategies that are specific to each child's living circumstances, which can be crucial for effective recovery. You will work Monday through Friday, totaling a 40-hour work week, collaborating with a supportive team that values your input and dedication.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment programs for pediatric patients as referred by physicians, ensuring alignment with their specific medical histories and functional goals.
• Deliver tailored physical therapy services to various orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, and sports medicine cases, adapting methodologies to meet the diverse needs of each child.
• Engage in ongoing communication with patients and their caregivers, educating them on therapeutic exercises and progress to maximize recovery outcomes.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and updates in line with legal and ethical requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other healthcare providers, to create a cohesive and integrated care experience for patients.
• Meet established utilization goals and contribute to the operational success of the organization through effective time management and efficiency in patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on a diverse pediatric population, addressing challenges such as musculoskeletal injuries, developmental delays, and post-surgical rehabilitation. You'll work closely with children of different age ranges and conditions, utilizing specialized therapeutic techniques to improve mobility, strength, and overall function. The role includes establishing a trustworthy rapport with children and their families, ensuring they feel comfortable and engaged throughout their treatment journey.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an APTA or CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program, preferably with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
• Active state licensure in Physical Therapy is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including word processing and electronic documentation systems.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have prior experience in pediatric physical therapy settings, showcasing a track record of effective patient management and treatment.
