Secretary, IV
The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The Transit Bureau-Field Training unit, working closely with NYCT Transit Authority, is responsible for safety and security of passengers who use the NYC subways. This position will perform clerical work using both manual and computerized systems. (Clerical, 124 room, and roll call are available)
WORK LOCATION: Hoyt/Schermerhorn Subway Station, Brooklyn 11201 HOURS/ SHIFT: 0900x1700 M-F/Flexible
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Disciplinary records and absence and tardiness records will be reviewed. In compliance with Federal Law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization? Skills Requirement: You will be required to meet the typing skills requirement by demonstrating the ability to type accurately on a personal computer at a minimum speed of 35 words per minute after errors are deducted. You must meet this requirement in order to be appointed.
Knowledge of Microsoft office.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
