Full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist for Youth Support

Silver Lining Counseling, LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Mental Health Therapist to join our team in Brookhaven, New York. In this role, you will provide essential mental health services to children and adolescents through our outpatient facility. Work Environment

This remote position allows you to work from the comfort of your home, while also maintaining access to our outpatient office in Brookhaven for in-person sessions as needed. Our facility provides a supportive atmosphere, allowing for seamless integration between remote and in-office clinical practices. The role requires stable internet access and familiarity with telehealth platforms, allowing for effective virtual therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents, identifying key factors contributing to their emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans that align with each patient's developmental needs, individual circumstances, and family dynamics.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to address specific mental health issues.
• Facilitate family therapy sessions to empower caregivers and family members in supporting their children’s mental health journeys.
• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure cohesive and coordinated treatment efforts.
• Provide crisis intervention during emergencies, offering immediate support for children and adolescents in distress.
• Educate families on mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and local resources, promoting a comprehensive understanding of mental wellness.
• Maintain detailed and confidential client records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.
• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development related to child and adolescent mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with children and adolescents facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. Building rapport and trust with patients and their families is critical, ensuring that there is a safe space for them to express themselves and work through their issues effectively.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Possession of a valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
• Demonstrated expertise in child and adolescent mental health disorders with proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic practices.
• Experience in providing both individual and family therapy, specifically tailored to young patients.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on building relationships that foster healing and growth.
• Adeptness with electronic health records (EHR) systems and various clinical software applications.
• Ability to function efficiently within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health setting, specifically working with children and adolescents.
• Previous experience utilizing teletherapy platforms is highly valued.
• Active participation in community outreach and educational initiatives is favorable.

Compensation and Benefits
