Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the specific needs of older adults, focusing on areas such as cognitive functioning and emotional health.
• Develop and implement customized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based therapeutic modalities, considering the physical, psychological, and social factors influencing each patient.
• Provide a range of therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, designed specifically for addressing geriatric psychiatric conditions.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including geriatric psychiatrists and social workers, to deliver coordinated and comprehensive care.
• Offer crisis intervention services and immediate support during mental health emergencies involving elderly clients.
• Educate both patients and their families about mental health conditions and available community resources, promoting informed decision-making regarding care options.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of client interactions and treatment plans in compliance with ethical and legal guidelines.
• Engage in regular case consultations and participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with advancements in geriatric mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will focus on the geriatric population, addressing complex issues such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties due to life transitions. Your expertise will be crucial in helping elderly individuals navigate their mental health challenges and enhancing their quality of life through specialized therapeutic approaches.

Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, demonstrating a commitment to providing mental health services to older adults.
• Extensive knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based therapies tailored to the elderly population.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing an empathetic and patient-centered approach.

Compensation and Benefits
