Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their specific psychological needs.
• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, providing support for emotional challenges related to aging, such as grief and loss, life transitions, and coping strategies.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, family members, and caregivers to create and implement personalized care plans that align with the needs and preferences of our older clients.
• Educate family members and clinical staff on best practices to enhance emotional well-being and quality of life for seniors, facilitating workshops and training sessions when necessary.
• Lead grief and loss counseling initiatives to support clients and their families during end-of-life transitions, providing compassionate care and guidance.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs aimed at enhancing mental acuity among elderly clients, using evidence-based interventions and therapeutic exercises.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role centers on a geriatric population, providing tailored mental health services to seniors facing a myriad of challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, and other mental health concerns associated with aging. You will work with a diverse clientele, allowing you to leverage your cultural competency to offer sensitive and effective counseling that respects the varied backgrounds and experiences of our clients.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Specialization or additional training in aging-related issues is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience delivering compassionate counseling services to elderly individuals confronting various mental health challenges.
• Knowledgeable about evidence-based interventions that promote psychological well-being among older adults.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to connect meaningfully with elderly clients.

Compensation and Benefits
