Work Environment

This role offers the flexibility of a remote telehealth setting, allowing for effective counseling and support to our clients in the comfort of their own homes. The work schedule typically runs from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, offering a well-structured work-life balance. You will utilize modern telehealth technologies, enabling seamless communication and collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to accurately identify their psychological and emotional needs.
• Deliver individual and group counseling tailored to address various emotional challenges, including grief, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals—such as physicians, social workers, and occupational therapists—to create and implement comprehensive care plans that enhance the overall well-being of geriatric clients.
• Facilitate educational sessions for families and staff to raise awareness of mental health issues affecting elders and to promote effective coping strategies.
• Provide specialized grief and loss counseling for residents and their families facing end-of-life challenges.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs and evidence-based mental health interventions that promote mental acuity and emotional stability among seniors.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on the elderly population, who may experience multiple mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment issues related to aging. You will support individuals coping with significant life changes and emotional distress. By addressing these challenges, you will help enhance their quality of life and emotional resilience.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent clinical experience specifically focused on geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Proficient understanding of evidence-based interventions designed to promote mental well-being in older adults.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with elderly clients and their families.

Preferred Experience

• Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.

Compensation and Benefits
