Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing you to provide valuable mental health support from a location of your choice while collaborating with a supportive and dynamic team of mental health professionals. Our flexible working schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, provides work-life integration that respects your personal time while ensuring our clients receive consistent and reliable care. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify specific emotional and psychological needs that can influence their overall quality of life.
• Provide evidence-based individual and group counseling sessions aimed at helping seniors address challenges related to aging, including grief counseling, anxiety, and depression.
• Collaborate with our healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that enhance the mental well-being of geriatric residents, ensuring all aspects of their health are considered.
• Educate family members and staff on effective strategies to promote emotional well-being and manage the complexities of aging, such as coping techniques and communication strategies.
• Lead grief and loss counseling sessions, offering support to residents and families as they navigate end-of-life issues.
• Create and implement cognitive stimulation programs aimed at promoting mental acuity and engagement among elderly clients, tailored to their individual preferences and abilities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on the geriatric population, where you will interact with seniors facing various mental health challenges. Our clients may be dealing with emotional difficulties stemming from significant life changes, chronic health conditions, or the loss of loved ones. Understanding the complexities of aging and the unique needs of this demographic is vital to successfully support their mental health.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of four years of recent experience in geriatric mental health counseling.
• Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and aging-related challenges.
• Proven ability to provide counseling services to elderly individuals with diverse mental health issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for building relationships with elderly clients and their families.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
