Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, evaluating their emotional and psychological needs.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions addressing issues such as grief, loneliness, and life transitions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop individualized care plans that enhance the quality of life for senior clients.
• Educate caregivers and family members on effective strategies to support the emotional well-being of their loved ones.
• Facilitate grief counseling sessions to support clients and their families facing end-of-life issues.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation activities and mental health interventions that promote cognitive health and emotional resilience.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on providing mental health services to seniors who are navigating the complexities of aging, including but not limited to, coping with loss and adapting to new life circumstances. Many of our clients face unique mental health challenges, requiring a counselor with specialized skills and a deep understanding of geriatric issues.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Washington.
• A minimum of three years of experience working with the elderly population, particularly in mental health settings.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in geriatric mental health and aging-related challenges.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with elderly clients and their families.
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness, enabling effective support for seniors from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

• Certification or specialized training in geriatric mental health or related fields.
• Experience using telehealth platforms and electronic health records for service delivery and documentation.
• Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy and other therapeutic modalities applicable to elderly clients.

Compensation and Benefits
