Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments of elderly residents, identifying specific emotional and psychological care needs.
• Deliver individual and group counseling sessions to address emotional challenges related to aging, including but not limited to grief, loss, and adjustment disorders.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to create comprehensive and personalized care plans for clients.
• Educate staff and family members about mental health strategies and interventions that can enhance the emotional well-being of elderly individuals.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling for both residents and their families, providing support during end-of-life transitions.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions designed to promote mental acuity and emotional resilience among seniors.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Azure Counseling Services, your primary focus will be on elderly clients, including those facing complex challenges such as dementia, depression, anxiety, and the psychological impacts of long-term health issues. You will engage with a diverse clientele, including individuals from various cultural backgrounds, requiring strong empathy and understanding to cater to their unique needs.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience providing geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Demonstrated expertise in geriatric mental health and age-related psychological issues.
• Proficiency in evidence-based interventions designed for the elderly population.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills tailored to engage with older adults compassionately.
• A strong grasp of ethical and legal standards pertinent to geriatric mental health counseling.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
