Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the unique physical and psychological needs of older adults, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Create and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families, addressing cognitive changes and psychosocial factors impacting their mental health.
• Provide therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy sessions, aimed at alleviating symptoms of geriatric psychiatric disorders.
• Deliver crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, utilizing techniques that ensure the safety and well-being of elderly patients.
• Educate patients and their support systems about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources relevant to the geriatric population.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with state regulations and ethical standards, utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Participate actively in team meetings, offering insights and case contributions, and engaging in ongoing professional development activities.
• Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in geriatric psychiatry to continuously enhance the service quality provided to our patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on the geriatric population, a demographic that often presents complex mental health concerns. You will work with elderly individuals navigating conditions such as age-related cognitive decline, depressive disorders precipitated by life transitions, and anxiety stemming from situational changes or health crises. Your work will significantly impact their mental health and overall quality of life, aligning with our commitment to patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California is required.
• Strong proficiency in understanding geriatric mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a patient-centered and empathetic approach in all interactions.
• A proven track record of establishing trust and rapport with elderly patients and their family members.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in standard computer applications.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working with the geriatric population is preferred.
• Experience in providing counseling and mental health support to older adults on an individual or family basis.
• Demonstrated knowledge of crisis intervention strategies specifically suited for the elderly.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is USD 115,000 to USD 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
