Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, carefully identifying their unique mental health care needs and developing tailored treatment plans.
• Provide both individual and group therapy sessions addressing emotional challenges associated with aging, including anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship changes.
• Facilitate psychoeducational group sessions for clients and their families, helping them to understand strategies for improving mental health and emotional resilience.
• Offer grief counseling and support for clients and their families facing end-of-life issues, ensuring compassionate care during difficult transitions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment efficacy while complying with all regulations and policies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers and medical professionals, to coordinate care and referrals as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role lies in serving the elderly population, particularly individuals facing significant life changes such as loss, retirement, or health decline. You will be responsible for providing culturally sensitive and empathetic counseling to clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring they receive personalized support in navigating their unique challenges.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field.
• Current LMHC licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in New York State.
• Completion of a full-time clinical internship in a mental health setting, with experience in senior care preferred.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with clients quickly.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring compliance with treatment documentation standards.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in addiction counseling or working with clients struggling with substance use disorders is highly valued.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices for addressing geriatric mental health issues.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate group therapy and psychoeducational sessions effectively.
• Adeptness in utilizing telehealth platforms for virtual counseling services.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role ranges from USD 70,000 to USD 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications, with opportunities for monthly productivity bonuses and a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. Our benefits package includes:
