Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, incorporating physical, psychosocial, and emotional evaluations to tailor individualized pain management plans.
• Educate patients and their families about their pain conditions, treatment options, and post-treatment home care, ensuring clear understanding and compliance with pain management protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that align with accepted clinical guidelines and best practices.
• Continuously monitor and reassess patient responses to treatments, modifying care plans based on patient needs and evolving circumstances throughout the course of treatment.
• Engage in quality assurance activities to promote safety and regulatory compliance, contributing to departmental initiatives that enhance care delivery.
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions to advance your skills in pain management.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily provide care to patients dealing with chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to arthritis, neuropathy, and post-surgical pain. Your role is critical in helping these patients navigate their healthcare journey, providing them with the tools and support they need to manage their pain effectively. This position requires a compassionate approach and the ability to empathize with patients' experiences and challenges.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and valid Physician Assistant license issued by the State of New York.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required; advanced courses in pain management preferred.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed to serve our diverse patient population.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in pain management, neurology, or orthopedics is highly desirable.
• Experience implementing individualized treatment plans and managing complex cases involving multidisciplinary involvement.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation best practices.

Compensation and Benefits
