Work Environment

This role is based at our modern surgical center in Carmel, New York, known for its patient-focused compassion and cutting-edge treatment methodologies. You will work within a multidisciplinary team in a supportive atmosphere that emphasizes collaborative healthcare practices. Your typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and physical exams of patients with pain-related conditions to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
• Administer pain management procedures, including injections, medication management, and rehabilitation recommendations, while monitoring patient responses and progress.
• Collaborate with licensed physicians, nursing staff, and case management to create streamlined discharge plans, ensuring continuity of care for hospitalized patients.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and patient satisfaction.
• Document patient information accurately and thoroughly to meet insurance requirements and engage in necessary paperwork for appeals on any denied claims.
• Provide consultation services both in inpatient and outpatient settings, which may include taking part in an on-call rotation to ensure patient needs are met after hours.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population experiencing a range of pain conditions, including but not limited to post-operative pain, chronic pain syndromes, and pain from injury. Your role will require empathy, understanding, and a commitment to fostering a therapeutic environment where patients feel heard and supported throughout their treatment journey.

Qualifications

• Current and valid licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of New York.
• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a relevant specialty area, preferably in pain management.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with a focus on excellent patient interaction and teamwork.
• A proactive and ethical work ethic that adheres to the highest standards of patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems to facilitate accurate patient documentation and communication.
• Familiarity with pain management techniques such as nerve blocks, epidural injections, and pharmacological management.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment, managing multiple priorities and patient needs simultaneously.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 150,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skills.
