Work Environment

The successful candidate will work directly with clients in their homes throughout Highland Park, NJ, establishing a compassionate and professional rapport while performing physical therapy services. Key Responsibilities

• Design and direct individualized physical therapy treatment plans focused on preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, improving, and restoring muscle functionality while adhering to physician-prescribed protocols.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants and ensure they follow the established plan of care, providing guidance and instruction as needed.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of clients' physical capabilities through diagnostic assessments of muscles, nerves, and joint functions to inform treatment strategies.
• Assess home environments and recommend necessary adjustments for rehabilitation, fostering increased independence for clients.
• Deliver prescribed physical therapy interventions, including manual therapeutic exercises, traction, and treatments using physical agents, emphasizing patient education in exercises and functional activities.
• Assess, fit, and modify prosthetic or orthotic devices in collaboration with the treating physician to maximize client mobility.
• Participate actively in the interdisciplinary team, contributing to case conferences and refining care plans to ensure comprehensive patient treatment.
• Document clinical records accurately, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries for continuous quality improvement.
• Communicate effectively with clients and their families to educate them on care practices, including the proper use of therapy devices.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by completing additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to meet company objectives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will work primarily with orthopedic patients, managing conditions ranging from post-surgical rehabilitations to chronic musculoskeletal disorders. A central focus will be to provide personalized care that respects each client's unique recovery journey, promoting empowerment and autonomy through tailored treatment strategies.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
• Current licensure in New Jersey as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) by the Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy is essential.
• Certification in CPR.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in home care settings or the ability to adapt traditional physical therapy approaches to a home environment is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in educating clients and families about their care plans and therapy techniques.
• Competence in using technology and electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient information and treatment activities efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 100,000 – 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare, dental, vision plans, and flexible spending accounts with affordable premiums.
