Key Responsibilities As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day activities will be focused on enhancing client well-being and providing comprehensive mental health services: Conduct thorough mental health assessments, including psychosocial evaluations, diagnostic interviews, and risk assessments to formulate an accurate understanding of each client's needs. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, taking into account their specific goals, preferences, and cultural backgrounds. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), tailored to each client’s unique therapeutic journey. Provide crisis intervention services when necessary, effectively managing acute distress situations with empathy and professionalism. Document clinical progress accurately and maintain comprehensive records, including treatment plans and discharge summaries, in compliance with clinic policies and state regulations. Deliver psychoeducation to patients and their families, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate their mental health challenges. Engage with a multidisciplinary team comprising psychiatrists, psychologists, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive care and ensure continuity of services. Regularly conduct outcome assessments to measure the effectiveness of treatment interventions, making adjustments to enhance client outcomes. Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in the mental health field, integrating new knowledge into clinical practice. Follow ethical standards and ensure the confidentiality of patient information at all times. Patient Population / Client Focus In this role, you will primarily serve a diverse patient population that represents various cultural backgrounds and walks of life. Your work will involve connecting with individuals facing challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Qualifications Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon. Strong ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for rapport-building with diverse clientele. Preferred Experience A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in mental health counseling is preferred. Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities and a demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and trauma-informed practices will be beneficial.
