Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of new patients to establish a clear understanding of their unique needs, goals, and challenges related to substance use addiction.

• Collaborate with patients to develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic modalities, ensuring that each plan is tailored to the individual’s circumstances.

• Facilitate individual counseling sessions leveraging motivational interviewing techniques and cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches to foster self-discovery and empowerment.

• Lead group therapy sessions that create a safe space for individuals to share their experiences and support one another in their recovery journeys.

• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and addiction medicine specialists, to coordinate an integrated approach to care that addresses all aspects of a patient’s health.

• Provide crisis intervention services to patients experiencing acute distress related to their substance use, ensuring timely and effective support.

• Educate patients and their families on addiction recovery strategies, community resources, and coping mechanisms to aid in their long-term success.

• Maintain meticulous and secure documentation of patient interactions, treatment progress, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Contribute to professional development by attending workshops, engaging in case consultations, and staying informed about advancements in addiction treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on individuals facing substance use disorders, ranging from early-stage recovery to those who have experienced multiple relapses. Our patients come from diverse backgrounds, each with unique life experiences that shape their recovery journey. The therapist will provide tailored interventions that respect the individuality of each patient while promoting a sense of community and belonging through group therapy.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Active licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York.

• In-depth knowledge of substance use disorders and familiarity with current evidence-based treatment methodologies.

• Proven experience in delivering both individual and group therapy within addiction treatment contexts.

• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating an empathetic approach that fosters trust and rapport with patients.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technology for efficient documentation and patient management.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
