Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that consider co-occurring medical conditions impacting patients' psychological health.

• Work collaboratively with medical providers to coordinate care, ensuring each patient receives seamless treatment across disciplines.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, employing techniques to restore stability and safety for patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work primarily with veterans and community members who may be dealing with a range of psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other disorders, often complicated by their medical conditions. Your expertise will be crucial in providing support to those who may feel overwhelmed by both mental and physical health challenges, helping them to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychoanalyst, Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York State.

• Proven experience in addressing the mental health needs of individuals with co-occurring medical conditions and providing effective therapeutic interventions.

• Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish trusting relationships with patients.

• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, uphold ethical guidelines, and ensure patient confidentiality.

• Proficiency with computer applications and electronic health record systems, facilitating effective documentation and communication.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
