Kitchen ManagerEgg Harbor Township, NJ 08234OverviewSalary Range $57,000.00 - $65,000.00 Salary Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Category Restaurant - Food ServiceDescriptionPosition Summary: Responsible for overseeing the entire day to day operations of the kitchen, supervise kitchen staff and ensure the kitchen area meets health and safety requirements.Reports To: General ManagerJob TasksPrepare daily production and prep listAssign, coordinate and supervise the set-up and food production areas within the kitchen to maximize productivity and minimize wasteEnsure all stations remain stocked before and during the meal periodEnsure kitchen staff follows cooking procedures, recipes and portions according to Menu BuildsKeep kitchen, dish, and storage areas clean and organizedConduct inventory to minimize orders and keep food costs inlineEnsure proper inventory procedures are followed (FIFO)Place food and supply orders as directedReceive product, verify invoice and freshness of merchandise. Ensure credits are applied where needed.Hire and train employees to company standardsActively participates as a member of the management teamManage kitchen staff scheduling keeping labor costs in lineManage staffing levels throughout shiftHold kitchen staff accountable for job performanceSmile and maintain a positive, respectful attitude at all timesPerform food preparation dutiesFollow all Chickies & Petes service standardsFacilitate communication in kitchen to ensure food service is coordinated and timelyAct as Expeditor; check food for quality and presentation, following Menu Builds, before servingEnsure food is handled in a sanitary mannerAssist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areasEnsure line is kept clean at all timesAssess and maintain all storage and food prep equipmentComplete beginning, change and end of shift side dutiesPlan and execute food menu for parties, may include non-menu offeringsKeep food costs in line with budgetAdditional tasks as assignedQualificationsMain Responsibilities, Required Skills and KnowledgeGuest Service: Must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet Guests' needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the Guests' overall dining experience.Communication: Must clearly communicate in a professional manner with Guests, vendors, coworkers and management. Must understand instructions, read written company memos and communicate when he or she needs more direction or training.Interpersonal Relationships: Must adapt to different personalities of Guests and coworkers without losing focus.Teamwork: Working together as a team is a critical success factor of any restaurant. Establishing good working relationships is key to maintaining a team-oriented work environment.Sales Techniques and Guest Influence: Must understand all Chickie's & Pete's products and services as well as have the ability to understand Guest's needs clearly. Must gain experience and become current in state-of-the-art sales methods.Performing General Physical Activities: Must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials.
