Maryland Licensed Coding Specialist

To support the coding department, the full-time Maryland Licensed Coding Specialist will analyze clinical documentation to accurately code and abstract data for outpatient records, ensuring compliance with billing and coding guidelines while working remotely. Key responsibilities: Analyze and interpret clinical documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient services Review medical records for accurate billing and resolve coding and claim edits using revenue management software Collaborate with healthcare departments to identify and rectify missing or erroneous charges while maintaining coding compliance Required qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in health information management or a related field COC Certified Outpatient Coder, RHIT, or CPC certification required upon hire Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding or a related field Successful completion of Outpatient Coding Specialist II assessment upon hire Knowledge of HSCRC guidelines and coding compliance standards
