Work Environment

This position is based in our surgical center, where you will interact closely with a diverse range of patients, from children to seniors, presenting various acute health issues. The work environment is dynamic and often fast-paced, allowing you to enhance your clinical skills while providing high-quality care. The schedule consists of Monday to Friday shifts starting at 5:00 PM, offering a balanced work-life dynamic ideal for individuals looking for regular hours without weekend commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess patients' medical histories to ensure accurate diagnoses.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work and X-rays to guide treatment decisions.
• Diagnose and manage a range of acute medical conditions, ensuring timely interventions that may include suturing wounds or administering injections.
• Develop and administer individualized treatment plans for patients with chronic diseases, considering their specific health needs and goals.
• Prescribe medications, monitoring patient responses and adjusting prescriptions as necessary to optimize health outcomes.
• Maintain meticulous patient records and schedules, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and guidelines.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment regimens, disease prevention strategies, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote an integrated approach to patient care.
• Actively engage in continuous professional development through training, workshops, and research opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our Urgent Care facility serves a wide-ranging patient demographic, including pediatric and adult populations. You will have the opportunity to encounter various acute health issues, including infections, minor injuries, and chronic disease exacerbations. Providing compassionate care to patients from diverse backgrounds is essential to our practice, and you will be expected to demonstrate cultural competency in your interactions.

Qualifications

• Current State Physician Assistant license (PA-C) and authorization to practice in Georgia.
• Active DEA Registration number.
• A minimum of a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
• Proficiency in clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Strong knowledge of health regulations and policies regarding patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience working as a Physician Assistant in urgent care or emergency medicine settings.
• Expertise in primary care and acute care practices.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on effective patient interaction and teamwork.
• Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations.

Compensation and Benefits
