Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist at Hemisphere Orthopedic Center, your work setting will be primarily onsite at our modern Rehabilitation Center. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, or conditions such as joint replacements, fractures, and sports injuries.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate a variety of techniques, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and patient education to facilitate recovery and improve functional mobility.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and implement strategies to maximize patient outcomes.
• Document all patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner, using our electronic health record system.
• Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation processes, therapeutic exercises, and self-management strategies to promote independence and prevent re-injury.
• Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge by participating in ongoing training, attending workshops, and staying informed about best practices within the field.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients with orthopedic injuries or conditions, including but not limited to post-operative recovery, chronic pain management, and sports-related injuries. You will work with a diverse patient base, and your expertise will help guide their rehabilitation path towards optimal recovery. Our holistic approach emphasizes not just physical healing, but also emotional support and education, ensuring a well-rounded recovery process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• Valid New York State Physical Therapy License.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients, families, and health team members.
• Capacity to utilize computer systems for patient documentation and scheduling.
• Adept at working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability as needed.

Preferred Experience

• Two years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in home healthcare settings is a plus, though not mandatory.
• Familiarity with assistive devices and equipment used in rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits
