Work Environment\n

This role primarily operates within a remote setting, allowing for flexibility and convenience. As part of the Community Health Clinic framework, you will have the opportunity to connect with families in their homes or via virtual platforms. This hybrid approach ensures that you can deliver individualized care while accommodating the unique circumstances and needs of each family member.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized in-home therapy sessions or group therapy within our outpatient clinic, focusing on tailored treatment for each child or family.

• Utilize evidence-based practices to implement anger management strategies and teach coping mechanisms that support positive behavioral changes.
\n
• Collaborate closely with caregivers to enhance their decision-making skills, fostering improved management of in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Engage with the Child Family Treatment Team, as well as other professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to therapy that supports the family system.
\n
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and intake assessments, to fulfill compliance requirements.
\n
• Participate in monthly interdisciplinary meetings, providing insights and recommendations for improving service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will serve a diverse clientele of children and adolescents aged 3-20 who present with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Your experience and approach will enable you to build rapport with each client, facilitating trust that is essential for effective therapeutic intervention. This position emphasizes cultural competence, as bilingual therapists fluent in Spanish or Portuguese can significantly enhance communication and understanding with families from various backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy or a related field.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, specifically during after-school hours of 4-7 PM, with weekend availability considered an asset.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes or community appointments.
\n
• Completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting prior to employment commencement.

Preferred Experience\n

• Extensive experience providing support for positive behavior interventions.

• Previous work with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.
