We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team at Healing Mind and Soul Center. This full-time remote position is designed for an individual who is passionate about providing vital therapeutic services to children with Developmental Disabilities and intellectual challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field and have a commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of youth and their families.

Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in scheduling and work-life balance. However, care will be delivered through in-home therapeutic sessions and our outpatient center based on the family’s needs. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, emphasizing teamwork with other mental health professionals and community support services to provide holistic care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

The Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist will take on a variety of responsibilities including:

• Conducting individual and group therapy sessions both in-home and at our outpatient center, adapting methods to best meet the needs of clients.
\n
• Running therapeutic groups focused on anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development to reduce high-risk behaviors and promote positive outcomes.
\n
• Working collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other interdisciplinary professionals to formulate and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each child and family.
\n
• Maintaining accurate documentation and submitting all required paperwork, such as intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, in a timely manner.
\n
• Participating in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations to enhance service delivery and address any challenges faced by clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on children and teenagers aged 3-20 who face intellectual or developmental disabilities. You will work with a diverse population, including children from various cultural backgrounds, specifically targeting those who speak Spanish or Portuguese. Your role will involve addressing their unique emotional and behavioral needs, providing support to families, and assisting in their development and thriving in their community.

Qualifications\n

To thrive in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Possess an active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• Hold a Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
\n
• Demonstrate availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm) with flexibility for weekend hours.
\n
• Have strong interpersonal skills and a dedication to promoting positive behavior support strategies.
\n
• Display a commitment to the mental health needs of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
\n
• Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes.
\n
• Successfully pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

While not required, the following experiences will enhance your suitability for this role:

• Previous experience working directly with children aged 3-20 with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

• Familiarity with culturally relevant therapeutic practices and interventions.
\n
• Experience in delivering behavioral support and intervention in a family-oriented context.

Compensation and Benefits\n
