Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and interviews, documenting detailed notes from the initial consultation through the entirety of the treatment process.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional well-being using evidence-based methodologies.
\n
• Develop personalized treatment plans that address the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques.
\n
• Monitor client progress persistently while adjusting treatment plans as necessary to maximize recovery outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including social workers and psychiatrists, to create cohesive intervention strategies.

• Follow up with clients who have been referred to hospital services, ensuring continuity of care throughout their treatment.

• Assist clients’ family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will engage with a diverse range of clients, including individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and other mental health challenges. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is mandatory.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW) in the state of Illinois.

• Successful completion and passing scores on national exams such as the NCE or NCMHCE.

• Proven experience in mental health counseling, showcasing a strong foundation in providing therapeutic services.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is preferred to streamline client documentation and management.

• An understanding of the various underlying physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders, is important.

• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Superior written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation range for this position is between $80,000 and $100,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.
