As a key member of our mental health team, you will conduct thorough evaluations, develop tailored treatment plans, and facilitate engaging therapeutic sessions, contributing significantly to client well-being and recovery.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments through preliminary interviews, documenting each client's journey from their first consultation through to treatment completion.
\n
• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health comprehensively, applying standardized assessment tools and clinical judgment.
\n
• Develop and implement individualized intervention and recovery plans designed for varying contexts, including individual, couple, family, and group therapy.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating an environment conducive to healing and personal growth.
\n
• Monitor clients' progress regularly, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations and feedback.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, medical doctors, social workers, and nursing staff to coordinate holistic care for clients.
\n
• Maintain follow-up communication with healthcare providers for clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.
\n
• Help identify barriers to recovery and develop strategies to mitigate those challenges, actively preventing behaviors that may hinder progress.

• Support family members and caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges experienced by their loved ones.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be serving a wide array of clients dealing with diverse mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and trauma-related disorders. Our patient population is representative of the vibrant El Paso community, which necessitates cultural sensitivity and a nuanced understanding of varying backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated effectiveness as a mental health counselor with prior relevant experience.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to enhance case documentation and management.
\n
• Strong knowledge of comorbid physical and emotional health conditions as well as substance use disorders.
\n
• Detailed understanding of best practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential for effective client interactions and documentation.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine, empathetic approach to client care.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant field is highly desirable.

• Experience with trauma-informed care practices and evidence-based therapies.
\n
• Familiarity with community resources and referral networks for comprehensive patient support.

Compensation and Benefits\n
