Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and comprehensive evaluations to assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health.

• Document cases meticulously from the initial consultation to the conclusion of treatment, ensuring continuity and quality of care.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups based on observed needs and research-backed methodologies.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that foster healing, personal growth, and effective communication.

• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, making necessary adjustments to therapeutic approaches based on real-time feedback.

• Engage in collaboration with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists, medical doctors, and social workers, to formulate cohesive intervention plans.

• Provide follow-up consultations with healthcare professionals for clients needing additional support after hospitalization.

• Identify behaviors that may hinder recovery and actively work to mitigate these challenges.

• Support family members and key caregivers by equipping them with strategies to manage mental health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The mental health counselor will engage with a wide variety of clients, including those coping with anxiety disorders, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Must hold current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.

• Successful completion of necessary examinations, including the NCE or the NCMHCE.

• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, with a strong foundation in psychotherapy techniques.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, with familiarity in software such as AVATAR, to manage client information effectively.

• A comprehensive understanding of underlying physical and emotional health conditions, as well as experience addressing addiction disorders.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as stipulated by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities that reflect empathy and understanding.

• Experience in group therapy settings and the ability to facilitate engaging and effective discussions.

• Background in working with high-risk populations or those with severe mental health challenges.

• Knowledge about medication management and its side effects, particularly in relation to psychotropic medications.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
