Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions or facilitate group therapy sessions within our outpatient center, focusing on evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored for each child's unique needs.

• Implement and oversee anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training, aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors like self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.

• Guide youth and their caregivers in decision-making to navigate in-home behavioral challenges effectively, equipping them with practical tools and strategies.

• Engage in continuous and effective collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure that all aspects of a child's needs are being addressed in an integrated manner.

• Complete all necessary documentation, including intake reports, treatment plans, and progress notes, within designated timelines to maintain compliance and facilitate continuity of care.

• Participate in monthly team meetings, contribute to treatment strategy discussions, and provide recommendations based on your observations and interactions with clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be children aged 3-20 who are experiencing developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role requires a compassionate and adaptable approach to working with a diverse group of children, ensuring that every session is customized to the child’s unique circumstances and cultural background. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a valuable asset, greatly enhancing communication with families from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is mandatory.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Florida is required.
\n
• The ability to commit to a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4 PM to 7 PM. Weekend availability is advantageous.

• A valid driver's license and a reliable registered vehicle for home visits are essential.
\n
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, to ensure a safe environment for clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant therapeutic experience, particularly in providing positive behavior support to youth.

• Previous experience working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits\n
