Work Environment

Our facility, located in Appomattox, is an inviting, fully-equipped outpatient clinic dedicated to orthopedic rehabilitation. The workspace spans 5,000 square feet and features the latest in sports medicine technology. You will be working alongside two other experienced Physical Therapists and one Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to maintain a collaborative and engaging work environment. The typical work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to accurately identify patients' orthopedic needs and objectives.
• Manage individual caseloads effectively, typically seeing one patient per hour, to provide focused and thorough treatment.
• Implement evidence-based treatments, including manual therapy techniques and exercise routines, aimed at improving patients' range of motion and overall mobility.
• Encourage and empower patients to participate actively in their own recovery process by developing personalized fitness and wellness programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive care that aligns with each patient's rehabilitation goals.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
• Emphasize non-surgical treatment options that focus on reducing reliance on medications while enhancing physical functionality.
• Educate and motivate patients on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which includes improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice primarily serves patients with orthopedic conditions, many of whom are covered by private medical insurance. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of patients, ranging from athletes recovering from sports-related injuries to individuals seeking to improve their daily functional capabilities. Your role will be critical in educating these patients and guiding them through their rehabilitation journeys.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
• A valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia.
• A clean professional record without any disciplinary actions from the licensing board.
• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques and customized exercise protocol development.
• Familiarity with WebPT Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software for efficient patient documentation and management.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in orthopedic outpatient settings is highly desirable.
• Strong background in rehabilitation and recovery protocols specific to orthopedic injuries.
• Evidence of continued education in relevant areas of physical therapy or orthopedic rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
