Work Environment

This position is located in our outpatient office in Appomattox, Virginia, a charming town known for its rich history and welcoming community. As a Physical Therapist, you will work closely with physicians, rehabilitation specialists, and support staff dedicated to enhancing patient care and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessments of patients' conditions and develop individualized treatment plans in coordination with the healthcare team, ensuring each plan aligns with medical guidelines and personal goals.
• Execute physical therapy interventions including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to treat various orthopedic conditions.
• Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, home care techniques, and the use of assistive devices to optimize recovery outside the clinical setting.
• Monitor and document patient progress accurately in electronic health records (EMR) such as WebPT, maintaining compliance with legal and professional standards.
• Prioritize and manage a diverse caseload, effectively communicating patient needs and staff assignments to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Engage in continuous professional development by attending workshops and collaborating with colleagues to enhance treatment methodologies and patient care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with adult and pediatric patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, injuries, and chronic conditions. You will help athletes, post-operative patients, and individuals managing pain regain functional mobility and achieve their personal health goals.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a related field is required, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred.
• Possession of a valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist, confirming adherence to regulatory standards.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience is desired, with a strong emphasis on orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Demonstrates a deep understanding of manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription tailored to individual patient needs.
• Possesses strong communication skills, enabling effective patient education and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

Experience with electronic medical record systems and knowledge of the latest rehabilitation technologies are advantageous. Candidates with a background in outpatient therapy and familiarity with evidence-based practice will be given priority.

Compensation and Benefits
